Subject: Air France transport, June 2014

Dear Sir/Madam,
To whom it concerns:

I am writing to inform you that I will not consider using the services of your company until you cease transporting animals for vivisection - a practice which I believe to be cruel and unnecessary.
The public is increasingly becoming aware of Air France-KLM's involvement in the vivisection industry and since over 80% of European citizens say consistently that they are against animal experimentation, I believe that you are swimming against the tide of public opinion.

Both during transit and throughout their subsequent life in laboratories, animals experience levels of pain and distress which are unjustifiable under any circumstances.
Furthermore, increasing numbers of scientists are acknowledging publicly that results obtained from animals cannot reliably be transferred to humans in any field of research or substance testing.
In fact, reliance on animal methodology is hindering investment in alternatives which would be more relevant to human physiology.

I trust that Air France-KLM executives will review company policy with regard to the transport of laboratory animals in the light of the success of the legally-binding Stop Vivisection Citizens' Initiative, which collected nearly 1.4 million verified signatures, and will shortly be examined by the European Commission.
Sincerely:
