Perhaps you are informed about the cruel fate of the starving cats at the Monastary in Mar Chaaya Lebanon.
A volunteer who was feeding these poor starving cats was asked to leave and not come back. I am shocked that followers of God would not show tenderness and mercy towards animals who through no fault of their own are left homeless without care.
I thought monasteries preach kindness and compassion. They will know these words of God: "The righteous man has regard for the life of his animal"(Proverbs 12:10)
What right do these priests have to throw out volunteers whose only aim is to help poor starving cats? It is clear that this volunteer is walking in the path of Jesus's message : "the smallest kindness you show to the smallest of my creations, you are showing to God." St. Francis teached that all creatures including man are creatures under God, and should be treated with respect.
What message are the priest sending to the population?
This issue is important to people.
Please talk to the priests so that they allow volunteers access to the grounds.
They dont want to go into the monastary. Just the gardens to feed the cats that are left there to starve.
Please have some compassion so that ordinary human beings with Gods hearts continue to do Gods work by feeding the hungry in time of need.
Let ordinary people show kindness to these helpless cats.
Please also allow the cats to be spayed and neutered. They also should also be checked in case of illness.
Please don't let them suffer painful deaths.

Please do not allow these cats to starve. It would be torture and a travesty.
