Subject: Global awareness Yulin, China

Sir, madam,
to whom it may concern:

As a concerned global citizen, I am writing to you as a member of an online grassroots movement to permanently stop the yearly "YuLin Dog Meat Festival".
This request is being sent to ask to bring awareness to your readers the plight of the cats and dogs of YuLin China that have no voice, yet desperately need your help.

This is an appeal to you as leaders in the media industry, to help us create global awareness about the dreadful suffering and torturing of cats and dogs during the months of May and June for the preparation, and week long festival in YuLin, China, known as the 'YuLin Dog Meat Festival'.

The corruption associated with this "festival" needs international voices to help put pressure on China to become more compassionate towards man's best friend.

Here are links that explain our position:

* Reasons Why The Festival is Unconstitutional & Should Be Forever Cancelled: http://bit.ly/1BhvIJL

* What is the difference between eating dog/cat and eating farm animals from western slaughterhouses?

China's defense for holding this festival is that eating dogs and cats is no different than eating sheep, cows or pigs, but this is not simply an issue of cultural differences of choice.
This "festival" is enabled through the brutal butchering of innocent dogs and cats and results in poorly managed transport & slaughterhouse conditions resulting in Chinese citizens risking contracting debilitating illnesses due to the infected carnivores and their 'meat'.
Which is ironic because the Chinese claim to eat cat and dog meat for medicinal purposes but in reality, people are getting sick from consuming contaminated cat and dog meat, especially if the dog has rabies prior to death.

It is imperative to the people of China, specifically for the prosperity of their children, for the good of their social and moral development, and the benefit of good health, that the local YuLin government be encouraged to cancel the festival, for the above stated reasons.
